The College Heritage

Ambah Post Graduate College was established in 1959 AD as the First Academic Institution of Higher Learning in the town. It was given the autonomous status in 1989 by the University Grants Commission and is approved by the State Government and the Jiwaji University, Gwalior in recognition of its performance and its potential. Smt Indira Gandhi, the then President of Congress Party and the Ex-Prime Minister of India laid its foundation stone. Since its establishment, the College has played a vital role in providing the quality education and the educationally qualified citizen in the town and the adjacent villages. The College is ranked amongst the best few institutions of M.P. Its contribution to the academic domain cannot be ignored.

50 Years of Glorious Past

• Ambah Post Graduate College, Ambah celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year at the completion of 50 years of its existence in 2009-10. The College had a modest beginning as the Kila School and later it was converted to the First Degree College in the Ambah Tehsil in the year 1959. The service that it has provided in the process of inculcating the values in the youth of the town is well recognized on all hands. The College has a glorious record of nurturing the citizenship qualities and talent in the youth of this Town and providing them with the best of the knowledgeable sources. These 54 years have been great years of achievement for the college and the town as well. The College pledges to provide much more in the upcoming years.
